High Peak Borough Council has identified several pockets of land within HP that are currently unused and we are considering the potential for one of these plots to be used as a community orchard or similar to encourage more biodiversity in the area.
However, there is much to do to take this forward, including identifying and approaching owners for permission. If permission is granted, each potential plot needs to be "bio-blitzed" to assess whether it can be improved.If you own land in our Parish that could be doing more to support biodiversity, please let us know!
